Private Tour to Sorolla Museum

Quick Details

Private Tour Per person starting at:
15

In this tour with a private guide, you will visit the workshop and the last house of the painter Joaquín Sorolla, along with his temporary exhibitions. The Sorolla Museum has works by the artist. It used to be his home and, in addition to becoming a charming palace, architecturally speaking, it houses masterpieces by this great artist from the Levant. Within the collection, we can find several works, classified in different categories. It is one of the most beautiful and homely museums in Madrid, as well as one of the best-preserved houses in Europe.

The building was converted into a museum after the death of his widow. Designed by Enrique María Repullés, it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest in 1962. The main rooms are still furnished as they were during the artist’s lifetime, including Sorolla’s large, well-lit studio, where the walls are filled with his canvases. Other rooms are used as galleries to show Sorolla’s paintings, while the rooms above are a gallery for special exhibitions. In 2014 an exhibition of David Palacín’s photographs of the Sorolla ballet produced by the National Spanish Dance Company was held.

Enjoy this unique experience and don’t forget to admire this fantastic art collection!
