About the tour
Cuernavaca has such divine appeal that former Aztec ruler Moctezuma II and French Emperor Maximilian built their villas there. The small town is a cultural landmark in Mexico and is full of history, spas, beautiful landscapes, and real palaces. Cuernavaca's high society culture makes the town vibrate with extravagant palaces, gastronomic experiences and its spiritual heritage.
Our next point will be Taxco, considered a national monument of Mexico. Here you can explore its ancient history and have a panoramic view of the entire city until you reach the "Silver City" itself. You will begin the journey through Taxco in the Zocalo Square, where several charming little cafes and coffee shops are located. In addition, you will be able to see numerous museums and historical art and get closer to the Temple of Santa Prisca. This church is the pinnacle of fine Mexican Baroque architecture, representing a period of incredible craftsmanship, ambition, and imagination. This large pink cathedral offers views of incomparable beauty.
Taxco is an old town that was once inhabited by indigenous settlements until the Spanish arrived and, in cooperation with the indigenous people, called the town Taxco. This became the first major mining center in which the Spanish would operate. Even to this day, silver is still plentiful at the local mine and tourists can ride via elevator and see it all for themselves. Silver metals light up the entire mine as you descend, making you feel like you are in a different world.
Taxco and Cuernavaca are very popular tourist destinations for many reasons. These charming towns are two of the best you will find in all of Mexico. There is so much to see and explore that you will love every minute of it!
