Day Trip to Hiroshima & Miyajima with Itsukushima Shrine & Ferry

Embark on an unforgettable experience that will take you to two of Japan’s most iconic destinations: Miyajima and Hiroshima. This tour, departing from Hiroshima

Your adventure begins at the train station in Kyoto, Osaka, or Tokyo. Onboard the train, you will enjoy the breathtaking Japanese landscape as you head to Miyajima, an island known for its stunning nature and famous floating torii gate. Once you arrive at Miyajima, you will be amazed by the splendor of the Itsukushima Shrine, which dates back to the 6th century and is considered a UNESCO World Heritage Site. From the ferry station, a short walk will take you to the iconic floating torii gate, which majestically rises from the coast and is one of Japan’s most recognizable symbols. This torii, which appears to float in the water during high tide, is an ideal spot for capturing memorable photographs. During your visit, you will also have the chance to explore the beautiful temples and gardens surrounding the shrine, where cherry blossoms put on an impressive visual display in spring.

After enjoying the beauty of Miyajima, you will board the ferry for a brief boat ride that offers spectacular views of the coastline and the torii gate from the water. The ferry ride is a magical experience that allows you to appreciate the island from a different perspective, with the city skyline and mountains in the background.

Once back on solid ground, you will depart by bus to Hiroshima, where you will visit the poignant Hiroshima Memorial. This site of great historical significance commemorates the victims of the atomic bombing in 1945 and serves as a place for reflection on the tragic events of history. The Hiroshima Peace Park, which houses the memorial, is designed to promote world peace and is a serene place that invites meditation.

Finally, you will return to the bus for the journey back. The tour will conclude at Hiroshima train station, where you can continue exploring on your own.
