About the tour

Don’t miss the opportunity to discover three of the most important attractions near Madrid in a single day! Explore two of the most historic cities on the Spanish plateau and a UNESCO World Heritage Site: Ávila, famous for its remarkably preserved 12th-century walls, and Segovia, home to one of the best-preserved Roman aqueducts in the world. In addition, visit the Monastery of El Escorial and its basilica, the traditional burial place of the kings of Spain.

We will depart from Madrid early in the morning and head to Ávila, where we will stop at the famous Four Posts Viewpoint (Mirador de los Cuatro Postes). From there, we will continue into the city for a guided walking tour, passing by key landmarks such as the Basilica of San Vicente, Ávila Cathedral, and, of course, the impressive medieval walls.

Next, we will travel to Segovia. Your guide will explain the history and construction of the magnificent Roman aqueduct before leading you through the historic center. You will pass by Segovia Cathedral and continue through the historic Canonjías district before arriving at the famous Alcázar of Segovia, one of Spain’s most iconic monuments and a symbol of the country’s rich artistic and historical heritage. There, you will have free time for lunch, shopping, or independent visits to some of the city’s monuments.

After the break, we will continue to El Escorial for a guided visit to the monastery. Your guide will introduce you to this extraordinary architectural complex, which includes a royal palace, a basilica, a royal pantheon, a library, a school, and a monastery.
