Omaha Beach
The tour begins with a departure from Paris by bus. After a short rest stop, you will arrive at Omaha Beach, one of the five beaches where the famous Normandy landings took place during World War II. During a 90-minute visit, your guide will lead you through this historic site, explaining the strategic importance of the beach in the liberation of Europe. You will see the memorials and monuments honoring the soldiers who gave their lives for freedom and learn about the key events that took place here on June 6, 1944.
Mont Saint-Michel
After exploring Omaha Beach, the journey continues to Mont Saint-Michel, a fortified island crowned by an impressive Gothic abbey dating back to the 8th century. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is renowned for its remarkable medieval architecture and breathtaking panoramic views. Upon arrival, you will have free time for lunch. We recommend trying the famous soufflé omelet, a local specialty, at one of the area's traditional restaurants.
Mont Saint-Michel Abbey (depending on the option chosen)
After lunch, if you have chosen the abbey option, you will visit Mont Saint-Michel Abbey, a spectacular monument that looks as though it has been taken straight from a fairy tale. A pilgrimage site for centuries, the abbey offers a fascinating blend of history, spirituality and Gothic art. From its terraces, you will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding tidal flats, and you will have the opportunity to explore its remarkable halls, chapels and cloisters.
