Tacos and Local Markets Walking Tour

Your guided visit will start at the Zócalo, where you will find some important buildings such as the Metropolitan Cathedral and the National Palace. From here, you will stroll through the iconic 5 de Mayo Street, which honors the Mexican historical battle day against French people. The Casa De Los Azulejos, a jewel building of New Spain Baroque, is also on this street. The end of this historical walking tour will be at the Palacio de Bellas Artes, one of the most famous Mexican cultural centers. This is not only an art house, if not the iconic Opera Palace of Mexico.

Once the guided tour around the historical center of Mexico City is over, it is time to continue this cultural visit by going to a Taquería. Here you will be able to try authentic Mexican tacos. After slightly beating your appetite, you will follow your guide to Mexican food markets, a great attraction for tourists, chefs, and food lovers from all over the world. Start by walking through the Mercado de San Juan, place where you will be amazed by its exotic animal meat, fruits, and insect delicacies. And there is still more! We will surprise you with the tasting of some of those dishes and a shot of tequila or mezcal.

After some spare time to explore its food stalls, you will continue your excursion heading to the last stop at the Mercado de Ciudadela. This market is known for its handcrafts made and cured by Mexican artisans and is the place to pick up the most loved souvenirs. You will learn about its origin and history and have the opportunity to visit some of its more than 350 stalls!
