About the tour
On the first day of this combo tour, you will travel by comfortable motor coach to Niagara Falls, enjoying the scenic landscapes of upstate New York (travel time is approximately 7 to 8 hours each way).
Upon arrival, you will begin experiencing the adventure, beauty, and natural wonder of Niagara Falls aboard the historic Maid of the Mist boat cruise or, when the boat is not operating, from other observation points, including the Cave of the Winds Gorge Walk and other available viewing areas.
During your visit, you will learn about the fascinating history of these mighty waters and enjoy spectacular views of the falls from different vantage points. After an unforgettable experience and wonderful memories, you will return to Times Square in Manhattan, arriving between 11:00 PM and midnight.
Two days later, you will depart once again from Times Square, this time heading south to visit two of the nation's capitals. Your first destination will be Washington, D.C., the current capital of the United States, where your tour will begin with a visit to the Iwo Jima Memorial, dedicated to honoring the U.S. Marines. You will then continue to the impressive Lincoln Memorial, honoring the president who promoted the abolition of slavery in the United States.
Washington, D.C. is the center of all three branches of the U.S. government. During this tour, you will stop for exterior views of the seat of two of them: the White House, home and office of the President of the United States, and the Capitol Building, home of the U.S. Congress, where the nation's laws are made. Your visit to Washington concludes with free time for lunch on your own and a possible short visit to one of the Smithsonian museums, the world-famous National Air and Space Museum.
Your next destination is Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the first U.S. capital during the Revolutionary War. After an approximately 3-hour journey, you'll arrive in Philadelphia's historic Old City neighborhood. Your first stop will be at Independence National Historical Park, where your guide will lead you on a brief walking tour. You will have the opportunity to see some of the city's most important historic landmarks, including the Liberty Bell, the iconic symbol of America's independence, and Independence Hall, the birthplace of the United States. Within its walls, America's founding documents, the Declaration of Independence (July 4, 1776) and the Constitution, were debated and adopted. Your visit to Philadelphia concludes with a stop at the Rocky Steps, in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art, where you'll have the opportunity to re-enact the famous scene from the 1976 film by climbing to the top of the steps.

During the off-season, and depending on accessibility, the cruise is replaced by visits to other observation points, such as the Cave of the Winds Gorge Walk, Terrapin Point, or similar viewing areas. Access to these sites is also subject to weather conditions.
