Experience the Museo del Templo Mayor in Mexico City, which preserves the remains of the ancient Templo Mayor of Tenochtitlan and houses an extraordinary collection of up to 7,000 artifacts. Admire the many objects designed to complement the archaeological zone and deepen your understanding of Aztec civilization. Visit each of the eight rooms of the museum and learn about the southern section dedicated to Huitzilopochtli, the solar god of war, and the northern section dedicated to Tlaloc, the god of rain.

Learn about the Templo Mayor and the Great Temple Enclosure, which were the center of Mexica religious life and a symbol of Aztec power and achievements. Each temple was dedicated to a different deity, and walking through the site will allow you to uncover more of the history of Aztec culture.
