About the tour

The first stop is the peaceful hilltop town of Assisi, the birthplace of St. Francis. Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore its picturesque corners at your own pace. Stroll through the medieval alleyways, visit the famous Basilica of St. Francis (entrance not included), and admire its extraordinary frescoes and Romanesque architecture. Enjoy the serene atmosphere of this spiritual town as you visit Piazza del Comune, the heart of Assisi, and relax with lunch or a coffee at one of its charming cafés.

After immersing yourself in the beauty of Assisi, the tour continues to the enchanting Civita di Bagnoregio, known as the "Dying City" due to its dramatic cliff-top setting and eroded landscape. This remarkable village, perched atop a tuff hill and accessible only via a pedestrian bridge, offers a unique experience with its ancient streets, stone houses, and breathtaking views over the surrounding valleys. Here, you will have the opportunity to wander along its historic pathways, discover artisan shops, and capture photographs of one of the most extraordinary landscapes in Italy.

The final stop of the day is the ancient city of Orvieto, dramatically situated atop a tuff cliff. As you approach, your guide will provide insight into its history and main highlights, including the iconic Orvieto Cathedral, renowned for its magnificent Gothic façade (entrance not included). Once there, enjoy free time to explore the cobblestone streets, browse artisan shops, or simply admire the panoramic views of the Umbrian countryside. Don't miss the opportunity to sample the region's renowned wines and traditional local cuisine.

After a full day of exploration, you will board the coach for a relaxing journey back to Rome, arriving in the evening.

La parada en Asís fue muy larga y, por eso, al llegar a Orvieto todo estaba cerrado. No pude ir al pozo ni al Duomo. El horario de los sábados debería ser diferente.

This was a very full day, but well worth it to see three cities. We had a friendly group, and our guide, Tiziano, was wonderful.
