About the tour

The first stop is the quiet hilltop town of Assisi, birthplace of St Francis. Upon arrival, you will have free time to explore its picturesque corners at your own pace. Stroll through the medieval alleys, visit the famous Basilica of St Francis (entrance not included) and admire its extraordinary frescoes and Romanesque architecture. Enjoy the serene atmosphere of this spiritual town as you visit Piazza del Comune, the heart of Assisi, and enjoy a quiet lunch or coffee in one of its charming cafés.

After immersing yourself in the beauty of Assisi, the tour takes you to the mystical Civita di Bagnoregio, known as "The Dying City" for its cliff-top location and eroded landscape. This dreamy hamlet, perched atop a tuff hill and accessible only via a pedestrian bridge, offers a unique experience, with its ancient streets, stone houses, and captivating views over the surrounding valleys. Here you will have the chance to wander its ancient paths, discover artisan shops, and capture photographs of one of the most surreal landscapes in Italy.

The final stop of the day is the ancient city of Orvieto, dramatically perched on a tuff cliff. As you approach, your guide will provide background information about its history and highlights, including the iconic Orvieto Cathedral, famous for its intricate Gothic façade (entrance not included). Once there, enjoy free time to explore the cobblestone streets, visit artisan shops, or simply admire the panoramic views of the Umbrian countryside. Do not miss the chance to sample the famous local wine and Orvieto's regional cuisine.

After a full day of exploring, you will board the coach for a relaxing ride back to Rome, arriving in the afternoon.

La parada en Asís fue muy larga y, por eso, al llegar a Orvieto todo estaba cerrado. No pude ir al pozo ni al Duomo. El horario de los sábados debería ser diferente.

This was a very full day, but well worth it to see three cities. We had a friendly group, and our guide, Tiziano, was wonderful.
