About the tour
Embark on an extraordinary adventure to two of Japan’s most iconic destinations: Hiroshima and Miyajima Island. This tour beautifully weaves together history, tradition, and breathtaking scenery to offer you a truly memorable experience.
Your journey begins travelling to the coast to board a ferry bound for the enchanting island of Miyajima. Known for its serene atmosphere and stunning natural surroundings, the island is home to the famous Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Its renowned “floating” torii gate, which appears to emerge from the water at high tide, is one of the most iconic sights in Japan.
As you explore the island, you’ll have the chance to wander through charming streets, visit historic temples, and taste local specialties such as Miyajima’s well-known oysters and momiji manju, delightful maple leaf–shaped sweets. You’ll also encounter the friendly deer that roam freely, adding a special touch to your visit.
Afterwards, you’ll board the ferry once more and return to Hiroshima, where you’ll visit the Peace Memorial Park, a place filled with deep historical meaning. Here you can see the Peace Memorial, the Atomic Bomb Dome, and several monuments dedicated to the victims of the 1945 bombing. Walking through this poignant area encourages reflection on the importance of peace and the remarkable resilience of the Japanese people.
After a day filled with culture, nature, and meaningful discoveries, you’ll board the train back to Tokyo by yourself, carrying with you unforgettable memories of two of Japan’s most captivating places.
