About the tour

Starting from Tokyo’s elegant Ginza district, this full-day excursion provides a refreshing retreat into the serene landscapes and enduring spirituality of Nikko. As the urban skyline gives way to winding mountain roads and dense forests, travelers enter a different world—one filled with tradition, nature, and peacefulness.

The first breathtaking sight is the iconic Shinkyo Bridge, a revered red arch gracefully spanning the Daiya River. Surrounded by lush greenery and shrouded in myth, this bridge stands as a symbolic entrance to Nikko’s sacred grounds.

The journey continues with a visit to the stunning Toshogu Shrine, a masterpiece of architecture dedicated to Tokugawa Ieyasu, the founder of the Edo shogunate. Richly decorated with elaborate carvings, vibrant colors, and detailed craftsmanship, this UNESCO World Heritage Site invites you to explore its quiet courtyards and spiritual paths, offering insight into Japan’s feudal history.
Please note: access to the shrine is included only if you select the option with admission tickets.

Next, the tour ascends into the mountains to witness one of the area’s most awe-inspiring natural wonders: Kegon Falls. Plunging nearly 100 meters, the waterfall is both powerful and serene, framed by rocky cliffs and dense woodland. It’s an ideal location to enjoy lunch and soak in the stunning surroundings.
(Please note due to weather conditions, during January and February, the visit to Kegon Falls and Lake Chuzenji will be replaced with a panoramic view of Rinnoji Temple and the Futarasan Shrine.)

In the afternoon, the itinerary includes a visit to the peaceful Lake Chuzenji, situated at the foot of Mount Nantai. Renowned for its scenic charm and tranquil ambiance, the lake provides a perfect final moment of calm and natural beauty before the return to the bustling city.

As the bus heads back to Tokyo, travelers will carry with them vivid memories of a day steeped in Japan’s sacred traditions and magnificent natural landscapes.
