Head to Coba first thing in the morning to visit this incredible place before the crowds arrive. This ancient Mayan city is located near five lakes, which were crucial for its development between 100 and 300 BC. Learn about its history and the people who inhabited this magical place, and admire the impressive Nohoch Mul Pyramid, which is considered the tallest pyramid in the Yucatan Peninsula.
The next stop will be Chichen Itza, one of the Seven Wonders of the World. There, your local guide will give you all the necessary information to fully immerse yourself in the Mayan Culture and the mysteries of this archaeological site. This UNESCO landmark is an important relic of the Mayan civilization. Here you will discover why the enormous city played such an important role from the Late Classic period to the early part of the Postclassic period, and why it remained a great center of pilgrimage. Visit its most outstanding landmarks, including the Kukulcan Pyramid and El Juego de la Pelota, among others.
From here you will get to know a real Mayan community, who will teach you how they make their crafts and what is their lifestyle like after so many years of following the Mayan tradition. They will also prepare a typical Mexican buffet lunch for us so that we can taste the traditional gastronomy of the country. Then, seize the opportunity of diving into the blue waters of an incredible cenote, where you can swim and relax in this magical and unique environment.
Finally, before ending this incredible day, you will enjoy a panoramic tour around the colonial city of Valladolid. Admire the views, see its most iconic buildings, and enjoy some free time to buy some souvenirs and continue visiting its streets on your own!
