About the tour
Discover authentic Edomae sushi in the home of a professional sushi instructor, located just 7 minutes from Tokyo Station. Step into a traditional Japanese home and enjoy an intimate and exclusive culinary experience in a small group.
The class is led by Satoshi, a professional sushi chef and assistant instructor at a prestigious sushi academy in Tokyo. With experience teaching sushi classes in cities such as London, Paris, and Shanghai, Satoshi shares his expertise in English, Japanese, and Chinese, making the experience accessible to travelers from around the world.
During the class, you’ll learn how to make authentic Edomae sushi using traditional akazu, a red vinegar highly valued by sushi masters for its rich flavor and long history. Its use gives the sushi the distinctive deep, balanced, and refined flavor characteristic of the Edomae style. Following the instructor’s step-by-step guidance, you’ll prepare around 10 pieces of nigiri and one sushi roll while learning professional techniques that you can recreate at home.
This experience goes far beyond simply learning how to make sushi. In a relaxed and welcoming setting, you’ll discover the history of Edomae sushi, explore aspects of Japanese food culture, and learn about the philosophy and precision behind traditional sushi craftsmanship.
The group size is kept small to ensure personalized attention. This gives you plenty of opportunities to ask questions, interact directly with the instructor, and make the most of the experience.
Whether it’s your first time visiting Japan or you’re a passionate food lover, this activity offers an authentic and hands-on way to connect with Japanese culture through one of its most iconic culinary traditions.
You don’t need to bring anything: all the necessary ingredients and equipment are provided. Just come ready to learn and enjoy the sushi you’ll create with your own hands.
