About the tour
During your visit to Madrid, you can’t miss the Spanish National Art Museum, the Reina Sofia Museum, and the Thyssen Museum with this Art Tour, known as the “Golden Triangle of Art”.
In Prado, you will learn about the history of the museum while walking around admiring the artwork. of artists like El Greco, Goya o Velazquez. Find a work collection that contains pieces dating from 1657, between the 16th and 19th centuries, and comprises more than 2,300 paintings. `Las Meninas´ or `El Jardín de las Delicias´ are just some of the few masterpieces you can find.
At the Reina Sofía Museum in Madrid, you can admire the work of some of the best artists of the 20th century, including Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí. Today, the Reina Sofia Museum has a large number of works, and galleries with their guide, and learn how and why these talented people created their art. Discover also the story behind the building, which was once a former hospital facility operated by Philip II in the 16th century. You will have a short break for lunch (on your own) before continuing our art tour to the Thyssen Museum.
In the Thyssen-Bornemisza museum, you will discover the biggest private collection of artwork. It houses art dating from the 13th century, up to the late 20th century. Get to know masterpieces of the ancient and modern masters in one of the most important private collections, belonging to the Thyssen-Bornemisza family, for instance, Degas’ Swaying Dancer, or Picasso’s Harlequin with a Mirror.
Our private guide will fill the historical gaps in its counterpart collections: in the case of the Prado, this includes Italian primitives and works by the English, Dutch, and German, while in the case of the Reina Sofía, it is impressionists, expressionists, and European and American paintings of the 20th century.
